What are the benefits of First Aid training?

Obeying the law

The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 require employers to provide adequate and appropriate equipment, facilities and personnel to ensure that employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work.

The Regulations apply to all workplaces including those with less than five employees and also to the self-employed.

First Aid certificates at work last for only three years. When a certificate expires, the holder is no longer considered to be competent to act as a workplace first aider.

Saving lives

According to a British Red Cross study conducted by the University of Manchester, 59% of deaths from injuries could be prevented if First Aid been carried out before emergency medical services arrived.

Yet only 5% of adults (one in 20) say they are confident and willing enough to take action in potentially life-threatening emergencies.

Providing First Aid can also have a big impact on a person’s chances of recovery. Giving help early can mean the difference between someone having a short term disability or a more permanent one.

Team building

First Aid training is great for team-building exercises. Training courses can help identify participants’ strengths and weaknesses and can help improve their leadership, teamwork, creativity and communication skills.

Standards & certificates

Our courses are regulated by the First Aid Industry Body (FAIB) to ensure that they meet the required standard.

All delegates who successfully complete one of our high quality First Aid training courses will receive an electronic certificate from the awarding body (the FAIB) confirming that they have achieved the appropriate level of competence.
